Glenmark to Waikari (and Return)

Enjoy a winter’s night at the Weka Pass Railway aboard our Matariki night train special from Glenmark to Waikari behind diesel-electric locomotive Di 1102, owned by our friends at the Diesel Traction Group. Join the train at Glenmark Station for your 3 and a half hour return train journey, with a dinner stop at Waikari. Our popular open air carriages will provide the ultimate night time experience along our railway as you listen to the locomotive making full noise up the climb through the Weka Pass! An approximately 2 hour stop at Waikari will allow plenty of time to enjoy a warm meal at one of the villages' Star & Garter Hotel, which is an easy stroll from the Waikari railway station! NOTE: Dinner meals must be pre-booked directly through the Star Hotel before the day of the night train!
